Emily Scores a Top 10 Finish  at Trail-way Spring National Race

 May  24th .... Emily and her family traveled to the Trail-way Speedway near Gettysburg,Pa over the Memorial Day Weekend.  She competed in the Microracing.Com Spring Nationals.   This was a Tobias Slingshot National Tour Race.  Emily battled hard throughout the entire weekend to earn a 8th place finish in Sunday night's Slingshot "A Main".   26 cars took the green and Emily started from 12th position.  She battled hard for the entire race. Emily fell to 17th place at one point early in the race but she fought her way back up to record a top 10 finish.   Emily's brother, Billy, was also on hand to race in the Tobias Speedstr division  so this was an action packed weekend for the entire team.

          

   Successful Winter  National's Slinger Week in Florida

March 1st...... Emily and her race team traveled to The Sumter County Fairgrounds in Bushnell, Florida.   She competed in the first Tobias Slingshot National Tour Race of the 2009 season.  There were three separate nights of racing scheduled and Emily V scored a top 10 finish in each of these events. 

In Friday night's race, Emily used a heat race win the land her on the front row of the 18 car starting field. She drove a great race and finished 2nd to the #2 car of Michael Glass. 

Emily had some bad luck during Saturday's National Points Race.  While leading her heat race, she was involed in an incident with  the 2nd place car of Georgia's Chris Achenbach.  Three cars, including Emily were forced to the rear.  In the 30 lap feature race, Emily would again be involved in some mishaps which hampered her efforts to win the race.  She brought her #19 Tobias Slingshot car home for a 10th finish.  Minnesota's Lucas Schott was the race winner.  

Emily finished 4th in the sunday afternoon 20 lap feature. She started 9th and made several nice passes.  Slingshot founder, Rich Tobias was the race winner. 

Emily, her best friend, Courtney, and her family remained in Florida following the race. They went to Disney World and visited with her grandparents.

Feb 14th, 2009 .......... Emily and her family attended the 2008 Tobias Slingshot Racing Banquet held at The Lantern Lodge in Myerstown,Pa......  A great time was had by all, and there are two additonal banquet photos posted on the photo page..... Emily finished the 2008 season in a very respectable 9th place in National Points!......  This was her first season racing for National Points..... Accordingly, her family and friends are extremely proud of her 2008 racing performance. Emily is looking forward to the 2009 Tobias Slingshot season.
